Billy Ray Cyrus burst onto the music scene with his multi-platinum song, ‘Achy Breaky Heart,’ in 1992, and now it seems the singer might be offering a new, hip-hop version of the hit.

TV personality Larry King was the first to share the news to his more than two million Twitter followers.

“Just spoke with @billyraycyrus on the phone – he’s recorded a hip-hop version of ‘Achy Breaky Heart’ – he’s excited about it & so am I!” King revealed.

The song, which spent five weeks at the top of the charts and has been translated into over 100 languages, came from Cyrus’ debut ‘Some Gave All’ album.

The Kentucky native, who worked on a TV pilot with Randy Travis last year, released his last album, ‘Change My Mind’ in 2012. Still, he says music will always be his first love.

“I make music because I just want the music to touch people’s lives,” he tells The Boot. “I make it from the pure love and passion of making music. I’m at a point where I just hope somebody gets to hear it and if it moves them, then that’s even better.”

Cyrus also released his memoir, ‘Hillbilly Heart,’ last year, where he details his own sometimes troubled start in music, as well as the highs and lows of his own family life, which includes being the father of pop star and actress Miley Cyrus.
