Country Singer Daryle Singletary has unexpectedly passed away at age 46 | RedCowHills

Country singer Daryle Singletary passed away unexpectedly this morning, Feb. 12th, at the age of 46. Singletary was a performer set apart from many of today’s popular artists, he wasn’t one that was going to break into the pop charts but if you wanted to listen to someone that would remind you of the poignancy of country’s roots than you wanted to make sure he was on your playlist. He broke through into the mainstream in the 90s with hits like “Too Much Fun” and “I Let Her Lie” and he was proud of his timeless sound. In 2015, when he released There’s Still A Little Country Left, he made a statement on his opening track that summed him up the best; “If you want to do it right, do it like old George Jones…If you came to twang town just for the money, then pack it up, son, get out of my country”. Singletary is survived by his wife and four children as well as his parents and siblings. Our prayers go out to his family.
