HOME NEEDED FOR 4 YEAR OLD BOY WHO JUST HAD RARE BILATERAL LUNG AND HEART TRANSPLANT SURGERY

Riley O’Brien has fought for life since before he was born. He is a warrior. When his Mom went for a prenatal checkup at 22 weeks, she was informed there was a problem. The baby boy she was carrying was diagnosed with Heterotaxy Syndrome and Congenital heart disease. The doctor’s said he had a 50% chance of living past age 1. At age 4, Riley continues to beat the odds.

After 3 Years, 3 Months, 3 Weeks, and 3 Days of waiting for 3 organs– Riley received his Bilateral Lung/Heart transplant on March 5, 2013. Dr. Spray and the medical miracle team at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia conducted this very rare transplant surgery.

Riley is fighting to be alive. When he is allowed to go home there is a problem. He can not return to the place he calls home for it will kill him.

Riley, his 12 year old brother, and his parents need a new home. They are currently living in an old 700 foot square doctor’s office in Somerdale, NJ. Their home has mold in the crawl space, leaking windows, and it is probable that there is mold in the walls.

The O’Brien’s can not afford to buy a new home with Dad who is the only one who can work. Mom’s job is taking care of Riley. Currently, they owe roughly $150,000 on their existing home. They need a new, healthy home for Riley. The home is also his school and his playground. He will never be able to go to school like normal children because of having the Heterotaxy syndrome.

Your donation will help the family stay together and help Riley live. The monies raised will pay off the current mortgage and allow them to build a new home that will not kill Riley. Otherwise, where will Riley go after his transplant operation? Please help Riley and his family. Many thanks and God Bless!
