Sebelius Won’t Help Dying 10 Year Old Girl Needing Lung Transplant: ‘Someone Lives And Someone Dies’ | RedCowHills

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said today that “someone lives and someone dies” when asked to waive a regulation that stands in the way of Sarah Murnaghan, a 10-year-old girl, from receiving an adult lung that will save her life.

“Well, I would suggest sir- that again- that this is an incredibly agonizing situation where someone lives and someone dies,” says Sebelius.

Without the transplant, Sarah has an estimated three to five weeks to live. Sebelius has the power to waive the federal regulation and help the girl. (Sebelius makes the comment around 2:13 in.)
